I will be teaching physics classes for children 10-13 years old. One of my primary goals in teaching is initiating and developing a scientific approach to the analysis of nature phenomena. Solving physical problems we will be “moving” from general considerations such as conservation laws and symmetry to a specific mathematical solution.

Another goal is to create a clear, logically rigid and yet simple picture of the physics phenomena, which we will consider during our classes. I believe that this is a necessary base for any successful physics course. We will keep tight connection with the everyday life – in making simple experiments and solving problems. We will visit a real physics lab and take a look at a real research process.

I graduated from St. Petersburg Electro technical University in 1989 with a Master degree in Physics and Optics. In the period from 1990 to 2000 I worked as a research scientist in Ioffe Physical Technical Institute (St. Petersburg, Russia) and Max Planck Institute (Stuttgart, Germany). My scientific interest is the Solid State Physics and Physics of Semiconductors lasers. Currently I am a research professor at Electrical and Computer Engineering, SUNY at Stony Brook.
