MacAdam Smith
MacAdam Smith has worked with children for twelve years, teaching art, drama,
and writing classes to students of all ages. He helped create free art classes for
underprivileged K-4th grade students at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center in
Frederick, MD. He performed for and tutored K-12 students in Shakespeare’s plays with
the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (in a program funded in part by the National
Endowment for the Arts). And he developed a free Creative Expressions workshop
for underprivileged young adults sponsored by St. Johns in the Village in New York
City. MacAdam has also worked as a reporter for PRWeek magazine and a Production
Manager for Abrams Books for Young Readers. He is a writer and is currently an
adjunct at The City College of New York (where he received his MFA in Creative
Writing).
