“Science is organized knowledge. Wisdom is organized life.”

-Immanuel Kant

I believe that each child is born gifted and talented. Curiosity and readiness to learn are the innate factors of each child as well. It is almost impossible to find a child who doesn’t like to dance, sing songs, draw pictures or build some things with blocks. We observe how all kids explore the surrounding world every day with our help or on their own. In fact, all of us are teachers in some perspective.

I believe that being a teacher is one of the best career choices for someone who wants to improve and change the world. It requires lots of love, dedication and commitment to your students. Being a good teacher not only calls for being an emotionally stable and neat person, but having a great passion for teaching and the ability to make students to fall in love with a subject.

I am a graduate of at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics at the renowned Moscow State University. After graduation, I worked for LANIT (www.lanit.ru ), one of the top IT companies in Russia. Throughout my career as an IT specialist, I tutored Math to students of all levels because I really liked teaching.

I am a recipient of the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship (http://nsfnoyce.org/ ) and currently enrolled in a double-degree program at the NJCU - M.A. in Secondary Education and M.A. in Mathematics Education.

I believe in Math education for all students of all ages. I particularly believed in learning Math from an early age. It is a truly joyful and inspiring experience to witness a child’s achievements and success. It allows children not only to be able to handle simple math functions, but also teaches them to be organized and self-motivated.

I believe that there are no bad students; each child’s success lies in the hands of a teacher. I have learned it from my own life experience: with my parents’ encouragement, I attended a challenging and prestigious Special Mathematical School in Russia. There, I was blessed with one of the best teachers I have ever known. That teacher deeply influenced my life and the life of every one of my classmates. Her teaching approach had an incredibly positive impact. It is with her influence that 100% of my class became graduates of several major Russian universities, now carrying through life a deep love of learning.

I believe that one of the greatest challenges in education is to find a way to connect myself to every single student, but the reward will be eminent. Finding successful approaches to change the children’ self-realization and allowing those young people to regain an opportunity to become confident and successful students across the board is my major goal.

As a teacher and a part of an educational system, I believe it as my responsibility to provide with a respectful, peaceful, and criticism-free environment to all my students. I feel it is my innate necessity to help my students to develop a life-long love and understanding of this incredible subject.
