Svetlana Yangol
; Russian_as_Second_Language, 3-4

My name is Svetlana Yangol and I am excited to be a teacher, an advisor and a mentor to your children. Together we will enter the fascinating world of the Russian Language and discover the Russian literature and folklore. We will learn the rules and idiomatic expressions that will help your children achieve seamless communication with those who speak native Russian. My mission is to expand the children’s vocabulary, improve their ability to communicate clearly and think in Russian, as well as help them improve memory and concentration, and develop their imagination. All of these skills combined will enrich their lives and character.

My daughter is now grown and is a highly successful individual. I am so happy to have helped her become as successful as she is. Most recently, I have dedicated substantial effort to mastering the methods of instructing children as I now homeschool my granddaughter in Russian and help her with her American and Russian school’s homework. My personal experience thus led to a deep appreciation for how critical it is to preserve the language in the family, while living outside of Russia.

In addition to systematically working with my granddaughter, during summers I volunteer at the Russian Center “ Ladders”(Stupen’ki) in Kaliningrad, Russia. The center, which is a part of the Kaliningrad Center for Language and Culture, focuses on preparing children for school.

I have graduated from Karaganda Politechnical University with a Bachelor and Masters degree in Engineering and acquired comprehensive teaching experience during my studies as a Teaching Assistant to the Professor of the History of Architecture. After graduation, I taught Organizational Management at Kokshetau Technical Institute and following that worked as an Economist, Chief Engineer and in my last position was the Lead Marketing Specialist.

I truly enjoy teaching and working with children. I also love painting and doing arts and crafts with my granddaughter.
