Senior Coach Simon Tsinis

Love and ‘addiction’ to chess for Simon go back to his early childhood in Moldova. He achieved level of Expert in Chess (with rating of over 2000) being a high school student. Ever since, Simon actively participated in major state chess championships in Moldova. He was able to balance his education and engineer job with active chess training and tournaments.

Simon’s talent as a kids’ chess coach has been revealed in USA, where he is working in International Chess Academy (ICA) as a senior coach for about 10 years.

Simon possesses a great skill in the ability to evaluate a student’s strengths and weaknesses, to guide that student to rapid improvement. He interacts well with students of all ages, and he is skilled at aiding the most frustrated students to a clearer understanding of chess theory. His students usually progress quickly from beginner to the Category 2 (rating – 1600). Admiration of the chess game becomes ‘contagious’ for Simon’s students, they find these lessons as joyful, fun and do not mind the hard mental work that is required of them.
