I am in very special relations with Russian language and culture. Because it’s my native culture and language and I feel a strong connection with the life of Russian nation back in a past and nowadays, I can share special beauty and creativity of Russian language and Russian culture.

I started to write poems and stories at the age of 12 and I still do it once in a while. And what is more enjoyable for me while writing is to combine words and phrases in absolutely new way for to create one and only image.

My methods of teaching depend on goals and age of students. I use various books and programs - "Russian for native speaker children" (program from Russian official school curriculum "21th century"), "Russian for non-native speaker children", "Russian for foreigners".

My lessons include vocabulary games, dialogs, video and audio materials, Power Point presentations, cursive-writing course, introduction to Russian literature and history, poetry learning, significant amount of grammar practice.

I strongly believe that learning any language must include cultural context and I imply it at every lesson. My students could say how Saint-Petersburg and Moscow look alike; they study facts from geography and history of Russia and of course literature. They know who is Tolstoy, Chekhov and Dostoevsky. They learn by heart poems of Pushkin and Esenin, Tutchev, Fet.

Along with the school and families we can help to grow truly intelligent bilingual kids, who not only speak and write Russian fluently, but also see themselves as a part of great Russian heritage.
