Welcome to SchoolPlus Russian Program

Knowing several languages is always beneficial, but besides this obvious reason our children attend Russian classes in order to preserve Russian as their family language. Most of our Russian language students are children of immigrants from Russia. For a lot of these children, though English is the first language, for their parents and grandparents it is Russian. Most children speak Russian in the family, but to have a good vocabulary, reading and writing skills children need structure and also the opportunities to use Russian language outside the family. That is why they take Russian lessons in our school.

Our classes for little children (kindergarten - 1st grade) are very fun. The main goal for 3-4 year olds is the development of speech. 5-7-year-old children learn how to read and write.

The purpose of the classes for Elementary school is to practice and improve reading and writing skills, to learn grammar appropriate for this age level, to stimulate creativity in using the language.

The main goal of our classes for Middle School is to learn how to write essays, improve vocabulary, express more complicated thoughts and ideas in words and on paper.

We offer classes for High School students as well. They learn about Russian literature, history, and culture.

AP Russian Exam (Advanced Placement test), conducted by the American College Board, is available for our students. For years we have been preparing and encouraging our students to take this difficult exam. We are certified to prepare students for the exam. This exam is valid toward college credits.

Due to demographic changes in the past years we have more children who do not have Russian home though only one parent speaks Russian. We've developed different programs for these children which have proven to be very successful.
