Dear Parents,

Bringing stories to life is one of the best ways to excite children about reading. We would like to invite you and your child(ren) to a live marionette performance of “The Pied Piper of Hamelin” at the New Victory Theater in New York City at 5:00 pm on May 15. Tickets cost $15, and Tatyana Salnikova, who is a member of the theater, can purchase them at a discount for $10.50.

This classic children’s poem was written by Robert Browning, and the third grade English class has a modernized excerpt from the poem in their Common Core book. Last year’s class really enjoyed reading the full version of the poem and watching an animated version of the story on YouTube. Since all children enjoy a good story and a good show, we’d like to invite all of our students to attend. Even older children will enjoy the artistry and novelty of seeing an old-fashioned puppet show!

The New Victory Theater is located on 42nd St., less than one block from a subway station. It is also accessible by car, parents can arrange the transportation that is convenient for everyone.

Please let me know whether your child will be able to attend this performance and whether you would like to join us as well. Tickets are going fast (one show is already sold out), so please RSVP to either Tatyana Salnikova (lunare@gmail.com) or Elizabeth Breau (elizabeth.breau@gmail.com) by ______________.
