- Family camping event at the beautiful Lackawanna State Park near Scranton, PA
- This is the 10th anniversary year SchoolPlus families will be getting together in the outdoor setting! The tradition started in 2010 as an outing during the Labor Day weekend, just before the start of a new school year. As some of our our older students graduated from the high school and started to leave for colleges, we switched to Memorial weekend to give them a chance to attend.
The camping will take place in our long time favorite Lackawanna state park. We have reserved largest of three group campsites for two nights starting from Friday, May 24th. There is a huge swimming pool nearby (and the lake for fishing (people over 16 y.o. need to purchase Pennsylvania fishing license) and boat rentals. Our favorite volunteer-lead activities include the group hike around the lake after the brunch on Saturday, afternoon carpool trip to a nearby farm for an ice cream and a “quiet time” for board games (bring your favorites!) , tug-of-war and of course the campfire. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE GROUP CAMPING AREA! The price is $25 per adult for 2 nights, but please put the total number of people in the comment. SchoolPlus alumni coming with parents are considered children regardless of age! Online registration will be closed 10 days before arrival.
