| PROGRAM | Who may join the class? Children from Russian-speaking or bilingual families who completely understand Russian and can speak Russian with different levels of fluency. The students know the Russian alphabet and can read and write words and short sentences. Program. The teacher conducts the class in Russian. In rare situations, the English language can be used to clarify the meanings of rarely used words. The priority of the course is to enhance the students’ abilities to use Russian in simple life situations and to access Russian cultural heritage, such as books, cartoons, movies, etc. Lesson plans include all major components of the language instruction, such as speech development, vocabulary extension, storytelling, learning short poems by heart, reading, and writing, listening to the audio, watching videos, discussing famous cartoons and books, and so on. The teacher uses various textbooks and learning materials, such as “Ломоносовская школа”, “Cоставляем рассказ по картинкам», etc. |
