Scott Chaiet
; Chess, mixed
I entered the Chess Teaching Field mainly for young players 13 years ago.
(2005-2017)
For 15 years prior to that I was the coach of adult teams
in NYC in both the Commercial Chess League
and the BAL. In that span, we won (6) championships (1984-2000) all
in the ‘A ‘Division. I continued making progress by studying with FIDE masters,
IM’s and GM’s which puts me in a great position to teach.
PS/IS 184 Shuang Wen in lower NYC is where I have been since 2005. Shuang Wen is an excellent school and is strong in all academic areas.
It is also a well-known top bi-lingual school.
Literally 100’s of students have gone through the program.
While many have become competent chess players I can state that many
are academically strong in top Universities now. Practically all my students go to Bronx Science,
Stuy and Brooklyn Tech.
I am a Professional Engineer and have also taught calculus and other math subjects.
I have a BSME from Cooper Union.
