I visited the park yesterday to check out the details and I loved it! It is a beautiful park with a fishing lake, boat rentals, an open pool, etc. We also plan to reserve a Museum tour in Scranton (20min from the park) and a 2-hour ride on an old train (http://www.nps.gov/stea/planyourvisit/trainridesandexcursions.htm). Details for daily activities will be made later. It would be a great beginning for the 2010-2011 school year! And it is the first time we are offering a get together for students and parents of all SchoolPlus locations! The campground area for our group is reserved exclusively for SchoolPlus and will consist of three lawns for tents. It holds approximately 40-50 tents. All School Plus tents will be together on a first registered - first received basis. However, if somebody wants to reserve individually at the same time in the same park, additional spaces throught the park reservation system might also be available (but act now!). To sum up, we already reserved group area of the campground for the three nights of the Labor Day weekend, but to be able to reserve different activities we need your reservation right away. Because of holidays (which is a high demand time), everything should be reserved in advance - now! Preliminary costs: Reservation on a campsite for one tent for three nights is $20.00 Train ride on steam train to Moscow (not Russia, Moscow in PA) will cost $21 for adult and $15 for child older than 6 years. Children under six years of age are free. Natural History Museum in Scranton (PA) $5 By registering, you agree to pay for all those activities (unless agreed in advance differently) and we will make payments for you now.
